How the AI study buddy works
Every lesson includes an AI study buddy your child can ask for help. It is built for one job: helping with the lesson that is open on the screen.
- It only discusses the current lesson's subject and content.
- It gives hints, examples, and smaller steps — never the quiz answers.
- It never asks for personal information such as a name, school, address, or photo.
- It never shares links, recommends other apps, or gives medical or personal advice.
- It speaks in short, warm, plain language matched to your child's grade band.
Answers are generated by a large language model through our AI provider. Conversations are not used to train that model, and nothing your child types is shown to other families.
You can read every conversation
Supervision is not a promise here — it is a page. Your parent dashboard has an "AI study buddy log" showing every question your child asked, the answer they received, the lesson it happened in, and when.
If anything ever looks off, tell us through the suggestion box on your dashboard and a real person will reply.
What we record while a child learns
- A first name or nickname you choose, and a grade band. No birthdate, no photo, no contact details.
- Lesson results, minutes learned, and screen-time minutes earned or spent.
- Questions asked to the AI study buddy and the answers given.
You can review, correct, or delete a child profile and its history at any time from your dashboard.
Parent controls
- An optional parent PIN locks the dashboard so only you can change settings or spend minutes.
- Daily goals and daily caps are set by you, per child.
- Earned minutes are recorded in a tamper-resistant ledger you can audit line by line.
